Title: ALL SCHEDULED POISONS ARE ZERO-RATED GST 1-1-2016

As announced during the 2016 Government Budget recently, all Scheduled Medicines will be zero-rated with effect from 1st Jan 2016.

Thus the First Schedule of the GST ( Zero Rate Order 2014) has been amended with new item which reads:

"Medicaments under the Poisons List of Group A, B, C and D under Poisons Act 1952 which are registered under suffix 'A'* by Drug Control Authority of the Ministry of Health and put up in measured doses or in forms of retail sales."

*Note: This will mean that there will be no listing of products. The identification of the zero-rated item will be based on the product registration number.
